There plenty of reasons why your computer might run slow, the only way to know for sure is to run tests knowing what you are doing. Of cause, you can always clean up your own computer, you can speed it up, but it doesn't worth your time wasting on something your might not be so good at. It always a good idea to call some one, who comes does everything for you, who knows what needs to be done and you don't have to worry about it.

There are numerous ways to increase speed of your computer, both hardware and software wise.
Hardware: adding more RAM, get a better processor, better HDD, replacing an old computer all together.
Software: Removing programs from start up, tunning performance, deleting unused programs, removing unnecessary services from running.
All that could be done by yourself, but it's always better to call a specialist to do all that, because if you do a mistake you can break your computer all together. I trust this guys with all of this tasks.

A lot of "fake" Antivirus, like Essentials 2010, create files with the same or very identical names in system folders, so if your antivirus doesn't find it, it better to address professionals, for the removal, because removing on your own might lead to removing very important files or DLL's, which might lead to system crash.

This is another fake antivirus program, which will "find" infected files on you computer, and will try to get you to fix it. PLEASE do not do it! Thia will download Trojan on to your computer, and will feed all your information to the owner, including what you fill up online paying for something.
Some real antivirus should be able to remove Antivirus 7, but may not do so completely, so if you are not sure, and don't want to mess up your computer, it is always better to call professionals for this kind of job!

Antivirus Pro 2010 is another fake antispyware application that gets into your computer as a Trojan horse and pretends to scan your computer for malware.
Some NON fake antivirus might remove it, but generally, it has to be done by hand of a professional. This soft is designed not to be caught by antivirus. So for the full removal, it's better to call professional, or your information would be feed to the owner of the virus including CC you pay with online, bank info.

Tech turm: Windows Firewall is a stateful host-firewall technology that inspects and filters all IP version 4 (IPv4) and IP version 6 (IPv6) network traffic. As a stateful firewall, Windows Firewall tracks the state of each network connection and determines whether the unsolicited incoming traffic should be allowed or dropped. Windows Firewall blocks incoming traffic unless the traffic is a response to a request by the host (in which case, it is solicited traffic) or it is specifically allowed (in which case, it has been added to the Windows Firewall exceptions list). Exceptions can be specified by program name, UDP or TCP port number, or system service name. Aside from a few Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) messages, Windows Firewall allows all outgoing traffic.
Human Language:
Firewalls have helped protect computers in large companies for years. Now, they're a critical component of home networks, as well.
Firewall is a barrier to keep destructive forces away from your property. In fact, that's why its called a firewall. Its job is similar to a physical firewall that keeps a fire from spreading from one area to the next.
